Lady Gaga's third studio album, "Born This Way", was released more than a decade ago, but it still continues to dominate music streaming platforms online. More recently, her song "Bloody Mary" gets a new record for daily streams.

According to Chart Data, the song got its biggest streaming day of all-time on Spotify, amassing over 429,000 listeners in one day.

As of this writing, the total streams of the song on the platform currently sits at 66,069,530

Produced by Fernando Garibay and Clinton Sparks, the song was written by Lady Gaga herself along with co-writers Garibay and DJ White Shadow.

Mother Monster first teased fans with the track in the 42nd episode of her YouTube vlog series "Transmission Gagavision."

She also revealed some of its lyrics months before the release of "Born This Way", writing on Twitter, "When Punk-tius comes to kill the King upon his throne, I'm ready for their stones."

Regarding its sound, sound engineer Dave Russell previously revealed that he was instructed to make it sound "Avante-Garde."

In order to do so, they "kept it fairly minimal and open sounding, but gave it a lot of neck and swagger in the drums," making listeners nod their heads a lot.

Lady Gaga 'Bloody Mary' Meaning

The electro ballad song was from Mary Magdalene's perspective. The Oscar Award-winning singer previously told NME that she believes the disciple was "both fully divine and fully human."

She added that Mary has to be strong when "Jesus fulfills the prochecy to die for everyone's sins."

"she still has the moment of humanity where she's upset to let him go. She had to be a superstar, but she must have cried too," she noted. (via Song Facts)

In a previous interview, producer Fernando Garibay said Lady Gaga first played the song to him when they were in Australia. She played the track and started singing the melody and lyrics.

They later polished the song by adding a few parts, but the producer revealed that the official version isn't as far from the demo one.

In addition, Gaga also explained that "Bloody Mary" was about living halfway between reality and fantasy. It was also inspired by a party in Berlin, Germany, that also made her write "Scheiße."
