In memory of Aaron Carter, who passed away at the beginning of November, his twin sister Angel Conrad and Lance Bass are co-hosting a mental health awareness event.

Carter's death "was the darkest day of [her] life," Conrad said in a lengthy Instagram post she published on her birthday, recalling the last time she spoke with him. Having lost her sister 11 years ago, Angel said the grief can feel overwhelming at times.

She added that it feels unfair, to be so young and already bearing the burden of having lost two siblings. She said Aaron Carter's death hit differently because while she was shocked with her sister's Leslie's death, she was doing everything to make sure Aaron survive his mental health issues -- to no avail.

Conrad states that she spoke with Carter two days prior to his death, not realizing it would be their final conversation. She claimed that she pleaded with Carter to allow them to assist him.

On November 5, the "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" singer passed away. He was 34. At the time, a member of his management team revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Carter's body was discovered in his California residence. The cause of death remains unknown, even though it has almost been ruled as having to do with his mental health.

The "Songs for Tomorrow" charity event will take place in West Hollywood on January 18, 2023. Conrad stated that all revenues will be donated to On Our Sleeves, a national initiative to eliminate stigmas associated with children's mental health.

On Wednesday, Bass also stated on his Instagram Story that he is "happy to be a part of this" and that it will be "such a fantastic event." He concluded by saying, "Aaron would be very pleased."

At the concert, Nick Carter, members of Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, members of O-Town and LFO, Ryan Cabrera, B. Howard, and others will perform and make cameos. Here you may find additional information about the charity concert.

Nick Carter founded a mental health fund in his brother's honor to support On Our Sleeves in November.
