Following the release of autopsy results confirming that singer Aaron Carter drowned in his bathtub after ingesting a concoction of drugs, his ex-fiancée Melanie Martin has spoken out.
She shared with TMZ that she and Carter had a child together and that the report did not bring her closure.
The mom-of-one questioned, "It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which doesn't make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on?"
Melanie said her heart still aches for the "I'm All About You" singer "every single day."
She and his family reportedly couldn't wrap their heads around what happened, and the autopsy report has only confused them.
The outlet released the document that said Aaron Carter's cause of death was due to "incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects" of drugs in his system, such as the effects of difluoroethane (which is the propellant used in cans of compressed air) and alprazolam (generic Xanax).
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's report found that the former child star's death was an accident due to slipping underneath the bath water and drowning.
Aaron Carter's Death 'Suspicious'?
Melanie Martin later shared a text exchange from Aaron Carter's phone with the outlet, which suggested he owed someone $800 for some kind of substance.
In light of her suspicion that there may have been wrong-doing in her son's death, Jane Carter has also reportedly handed over evidence to the authorities to be looked at further.
Grief-stricken, Jane shared several images from the scene and commented on how the coroner had written it off as an accidental drug overdose.
She explained, "They never investigated it as a possible crime scene because of his addiction past. Look at the photos. They were not taken by the police. But they allowed people to go in and out."

Tragedy struck when Melanie Martin, fiancée of the late-great actor and singer, Aaron Carter, discovered him unresponsive in their shared Lancaster home on November 5, 2022.
In a statement to HollywoodLife released shortly after news of his passing spread, his representative remarked that everyone was devastated.
Another representative told Page Six during that time that the "Candy" singer strove to be a good father and reconcile with family during his final life period as he battled recovery.
