Britney Spears just released her new memoir "The Woman in Me" and she became vulnerable with some of the most harrowing moments of her life that she's now ready to share with her fans. More recently, it was reported that the pop singer was deprived of food during her prime years and it was all her father Jamie Spears' fault; what happened?

According to the new book, as obtained by Page Six, the mega pop superstar claimed that her father always told her that she looked "fat" so she needed to follow a "strict diet."

Unfortunately, her eating habits back in the day were not that great because even though they had a butler, she would still beg him for real food like hamburgers or ice cream.

The butler would then deny her any of the requests because he was following Jamie's strict orders.

"So for two years, I ate almost nothing but chicken and canned vegetables," she claimed.

Elsewhere in the book, the singer noted that two years was a long time for her not to be able to eat what she wanted as she needed her body and physical strength in her career.

"Two years is a long time to not be able to eat what you want, especially when it's your body and your work and your soul making the money that everyone's living off of," she added.

She also noted that it felt degrading on her part that she would always ask to have french fries but she was denied.
