She didn't seem to appear too bothered however, appearing as one of the show's final performances with a rousing rendition of "Take My Hand, Precious Lord," a standard written long ago by the Reverend Thomas Dorsey and made famous by Elvis Presley. Perhaps the most famous performer was Mahalia Jackson, and it was sung by R&B performer/actress Ledisi as Jackson in the film Selma. -
