Jack White Singles Discovered Inside Furniture After Being Hidden for 10 Years
If you think Jack White's penchant for quirky, vinyl releases started with his solo career in the last few years, then you are way off. In the early 2000s, White and his friend Brian Muldoon played together in a duo known as The Upholsterers — named for their actual profession at the time — but instead of releasing their second single in a traditional manner, they decided to press just 100 copies and sew them into 100 pieces of furniture that Muldoon was reupholstering in 2004 without telling the owners of the furniture. Though it would be fair to assume that this story was just Jack White doing some self-mythologizing, Third Man Records claims that two of the 100 singles have recently been discovered. In celebration of the single's discovery, White has shared the cover artwork, which was created by Detroit artist Gordon Newton. The Seven Most Expensive Guitars Ever: Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and More Bring in Millions
Ten years ago on this date, a red Gibson SG was sold at auction for $570,000 at auction in New York City. As you can imagine, there was a story behind the value: George Harrison had used it during the recording of The Beatles' Revolver and John Lennon later sued the guitar while recording The White Album. Remarkably, that's far from the most that's ever been paid for a guitar at auction. In fact, seven six-strings have brought in more. -

Fox News Disses Jay-Z, Jon Stewart and 'The Daily Show' Come to Hova's Defense [WATCH]
Fox News committed a big foul when it dissed Jay-Z recently and brought up the rapper's past as a drug dealer. Sean Hannity took issue with Hova's inclusion in a meeting with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to discuss justice system issues in the wake of the Eric Garner decision. Jon Stewart and members of "The Daily Show," as usual, did not understand the reasoning and decided to fire some satirical shots at the news organization, "Consequence of Sound" notes.Hannity shortened Jay-Z's entire résumé to being "a guy who sold crack, was a drug dealer and actually shot somebody," citing an excerpt from the rapper's book.Hova left that lifestyle long ago, as pretty much everyone in America knows, but that was not enough for Fox News. "Daily Show" correspondent Jessica Williams explains it perfectly in the clip below."Hova has done quite a few other things since his dealing days. You would think that'd impress people on Fox, because we all know how much they like to preach to black folks about responsibility, self-improvement and what's wrong with the black community," she says. -
