  • Why Does 'Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck' Lack Commentary from Dave Grohl? Director Brett Morgen Explains

    'Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck,' the documentary based on the Nirvana frontman that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival this week, had a little bit of everything but some noticed that it didn't feature Dave Grohl, the band's drummer and current Foo Fighters vocalist. Although there have been questions in the past over the relationship between the two bandmates, director Brett Morgen assured viewers at the film's premiere in Utah that a later cut of the film may include commentary from Grohl, who was interviewed for the project.

    Wu-Tang Clan members Raekwon and Ghostface Killah made an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday night to confirm what many in the hip-hop world were already reporting: The duo would be overseeing a documentary of the pair's landmark album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, which will be titled The Purple Tape Files. A trailer was revealed to the guests at the event, who enjoyed cocktails and a Q&A with the emcees at a "Purple Carpet" screening.

    Debra Baum, the former manager for "Friday" star Rebecca Black as well as Paula Abdul, has been accused of violating the Los Angeles Talent Scam Prevention Act and may face up to two years in jail. The manager was charged with charging more than $100,000 illegally for representation and could also pay up to $20,000 in fines to the city.

    Run The Jewels member El-P got on Instagram this week and previewed clips of Meow The Jewels, a project where the "Close Your Eyes" rappers' music is replaced by cat noises. He also revealed special guest spots on the album for noted musicians such as Geoff Barrow of Portishead, hip-hop producer Dan The Automator and...internet sensation Lil Bub, a cat whose tongue constantly pokes from is open mouth.

The album has features and collaborations alongside the likes of Mr. Probz, Tiësto, Jason Derulo, W&W and others. The variation in artists lends itself to the assortment of different genres contained within the 14-track LP.

    According to reports, EDM megastar Calvin Harris & Las Vegas nightlife brand Hakkasan Group are expected to announce a deal very soon that will lock the "Blame" producer in for reportedly three years and will net Harris $400,000 a gig. Calvin Harris is currently a resident at Hakkasan and was the DJ there on New Year's Eve, where you could have gotten a table for $500,000. Harris will also be reportedly playing shows at Hakkasan and Omnia Nightclub, the newly opened club in the Caesars Palace, which boasts a DJ roster of Afrojack, Armin van Buuren and Martin Garrix.

The singer stripped down the tune, creating a dark, emotional atmosphere. The performance was powerful, especially considering the fact that he just split from his wife of nearly six years, Mandy Moore.

The two bands shared the stage in London last night (Jan. 23) to pay tribute to the Beastie Boys with a vicious cover of the rap trio's 1994 hit, "Sabotage." Some fans were able to capture the collaboration on video, but Korn promised a full video of the performance in the future.
