  • Spotify's Student Discounts Hurting Earnings AND User Numbers According to University of Georgia Study

    Those up on the numbers know not to believe the hype...despite the constant media coverage devoted to Spotify and streaming as the future of the music industry, if you've read up on the subject you'll know that the service has yet to turn a profit. David Lowery, a noted critic of the streaming frontier and professor at the University of Georgia's music business program, has published a new report suggesting that Spotify in particular is shooting itself in the foot. Apparently special rates offered to college students aren't helping the bottom line.
  • Grateful Dead Reunion Shows in Chicago Sold Out in One Hour: Ticketmaster Did Not Crash

    Fans of the Grateful Dead showed their love for the band over the weekend, buying every last ticket available for the reunion shows set to happen at Chicago's Soldier Field in July. The three shows slated for July 3 to 5 sold out in one hour Saturday, Feb. 28. Ticketmaster did not crash even with the demand for tickets reaching the millions, 'Billboard' noted.

After weeks of speculation following some headlining festival gigs, today (March 2), Mumford and Sons announced its third studio album, Wilder Mind, and made one other big revelation: the banjo-ridden folk band is going electric.

    Chance the Rapper and Alex Baldwin beatboxing and rapping together? Yes, that did happen. According to an Instagram that Chance posted last night, March 1, Baldwin showed up to the 15th anniversary of the Louder Than a Bomb youth poetry festival in Chicago to raise money for Young Chicago Authors. At some point the pair connected and decided to lay down some bars with the "Surf" rapper beatboxing and Baldwin rapping. Watch the video below.

For one, they won't be able to reproduce it for profit, or otherwise. At least for 88 years.

    Saturday, Feb. 28, was not a good day for crime in Charlotte, North Carolina. Just a few hours after two individuals were shot at a concert hosted by T.I., Jeezy and Yo Gotti for CIAA weekend at the nightclub Label, Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill had their own party and, according to local reports, two people were reportedly stabbed, with one currently in serious condition.

  • 2 Shot at T.I. and Jeezy Concert in North Carolina During CIAA Weekend

    The day ended very poorly for two individuals at a Jeezy and T.I. concert. According to police reports, two people were shot at a concert headlined by T.I. and Jeezy at Charlotte nightclub, Label. The concert also featured Yo Gotti and Diddy.
