  • Drake Reportedly Challenges Murda Mook to Rap Battle, Even as Lil Wayne 'Ain't F----n' with Mook'

Murda Mook is having a heck of a year when it comes to mainstream publicity. The emcee, best known for his prowess in the field of battle rap, came out on top in the premiere event against Loaded Lux at Total Slaughter, a battle rap event sponsored by Shady Records in New York City. The rapper has been looking to battle a more mainstream opponent, more as a method of making a quick buck than being challenged (we're just saying...mainstream rappers aren't necessarily any good at battling). So who's willing to take up the challenge? According to HipHopDX and Mook's Instagram, the answer is Drake.
  • Eminem 'Shady XV': New Album Details Released Along With Single 'Guts Over Fear' [LISTEN]

  • 'Rave of Thrones' Featuring DJ Kristian 'Hodor' Nairn Coming to U.S. for First Time for New York City Show

Hodor has one of the lowest vocabularies in the Game of Thrones series, so perhaps it's for the best that he's an electronic dance musician...not much wordplay required. Actor Kristian "Hodor" Nairn, who plays the friendly giant on the HBO series, has adapted his most famous role into an EDM show titled "Rave of Thrones," which he'll be bringing from Australia—where he played a series of club shows—to the United States for the first time on October 10.

  • Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker: Blink-182’s Reading Festival Performance Was Filled With Music And Toilet Humor

Looks like Blink-182 may have aged a bit, but it doesn’t mean the Enema of the State trio has matured at all … which we’re happy about. The group played both the Reading and Leeds Festivals this past weekend and reportedly ended the former performance just last night (Aug. 24) with some pyrotechnics and some good, old-fashioned toilet humor, according to NME.
  • G-Unit Drops Secret EP 'The Beauty of Independence' Following the MTV Video Music Awards

One of the bigger headlines of the music night was actually occurring away from the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. It's the group first release since 2008's T.O.S: Terminate On Sight.
  • Steve Lowenthal Talks New Book 'Dance of Death: The Life of John Fahey'

"This is not rock 'n' roll. It's not pop music. It's not folk music; it's this sort of transcendental guitar music," Steve Lowenthal emphatically tells me over the phone. And, indeed, his new book, Dance of Death: The Life of John Fahey, details the style (and story) of perhaps this country's most influential "American primitive" guitarist.
