    I'm generally not the kind of person who's blown away when celebrities act like rational, polite human beings, but two weeks ago, pop star Taylor Swift surprised a fan with a birthday gift that even I thought was incredibly sweet. On July 24th, while taking a stroll through Central Park with a reporter from Rolling Stone, Swift stopped to take a photo with a fan that spotted her from a rowboat (she helped her out of the rowboat, by the way). Then, after finding out that it just so happened to be the fan's birthday, Swift gave her $90 out of her own purse to go have lunch at Chipotle.

    The line-up for the very first Modern Sky Festival in New York City has been announced through the festival's website. Headliners include Cat Power, Liars, Stars, the Both (Aimee Mann and Ted Leo), and the Blood Brothers, who have reunited this year after splitting back in 2007. Some of the festival's other acts include a special tribute to Nigerian funk musician William Onyeabor featuring as of yet unannounced special guests, as well as a number of rock and electronic artists from China to fill out the rest of the line-up. The festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5 at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.
