• Loretta Lynn Coal Miner's Daughter Tour

    Loretta Lynn may have turned 82 in April, but the lady who will be receiving the Americana Music Association's Lifetime Achievement Award on September 17, 2014 isn't letting a little thing like age keep her on the sidelines. On August 8th, she will kick off the Coal Miner's Daughter tour in San Antonio, Texas and will visit 12 more cities before wrapping it up on November 6th in Huntsville, Alabama.

With the backing of his tourmates/bandmates Dawes, the Bright Eyes frontman performed his Upside Down Mountain single "Hundreds Of Ways."
  • Modest Mouse, Tears For Fears To Play 'Project Pabst' Festival In Portland

    It seems as though Pabst Blue Ribbon beer has finally accepted its place in American indie culture with the announcement of Project Pabst, a three-day music festival in Portland, Oregon. The festival will take place across various venues in Portland from September 26-28 and will feature sets from Modest Mouse (who are based in Portland), Tears For Fears, Guided By Voices, and Violent Femmes. The Wu-Tang Clan's GZA is also scheduled to appear, and will be performing his 1995 solo album Liquid Swords in its entirety.

    Weirdo funk-metal trio Primus has announced its eighth studio album, a tribute to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory titled Primus and the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble, which will be out on October 21 and is currently available for pre-order. The album will be the Primus' first since 1995's Tales from the Punchbowl to feature its classic line-up of bassist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde, and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander.

In a new interview with NME, Albarn admits that the new album he started recording with Blur last year may never actually be finished, taking most of the blame for it himself and his inability to write enough lyrics in time.
