• Grammys '15: Prince Steals Show With Album of the Year Intro, Jumpsuit

    Prince walked onto the 2015 Grammys stage with more purpose and swagger than any contemporary pop princess or rap genius sitting in the front rows of the Staples Center last night, Feb. 8. The "Purple Rain" singer was there to present the award for Album of the Year and stole the show with his orange jumpsuit and superb smirk. Prince was able to sum up the category and, for that matter, the current state of music while dropping an educational, political and cultural bomb in the process.

    Beck, along with most people watching the 2015 Grammys, thought Beyoncé should have won Album of the Year for her self-titled release. Kanye West took the questionable route of jumping onstage during Beck's acceptance, but the "Morning Phase" singer was perfectly fine with it. West continued to be critical of the choice and Beck after the show, but the alternative singer-songwriter told E! that he understands the rapper's frustrations. He even paid West a few compliments.

    While it is not a huge surprise to learn that, overall, 2014 was not the most fruitful year in terms of album sales, with a decline of 11 percent from 2013, it is unfortunate that the genre of hip hop did not see any love whatsoever in the top 10 best-selling album list.
