Linkin Park Cancels Tour Due to Emergency
Nu-metal veterans Linkin Park have been forced to cancel the remainder of their current tour due to a serious leg injury suffered by lead vocalist Chester Bennington. According to a statement posted to the Linkin Park website, Bennington's injuries require "immediate medical attention" and have resulted in the cancellation of the remaining dates on the band's Hunting Party tour through Feb. 14. -

Stone Temple Pilots Recording New Music with Linkin Park Frontman Chester Bennington

Stone Temple Pilots's Scott Weiland Announces Album Release Date, Solo Tour [SCHEDULE]
Former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has announced the release date of his upcoming album "Blaster" as well as a string of tour dates in support of the album beginning in late February. According to an interview with "Rolling Stone," "Blaster" is set for release March 31 through Softdrive Records and will be Weiland's first album with his new backing band The Wildabouts. The tour in support of "Blaster" kicks off Feb. 22 in Scottsdale, Arizona, and finishes March 14 in Boston, though Weiland will be appearing at several festivals between March and May as well. "Blaster" will be Weiland's third solo album overall, his first since 2008's "'Happy' in Galoshes," as well as his first since being fired from the Stone Temple Pilots in 2013 — he was ultimately replaced by Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington. "'"Happy" in Galoshes' was an experimental art record, for the most part," Weiland tells "Rolling Stone." "'Blaster' is definitely a band sound: a stripped down, furry sound with a lot of space between the notes. But it's tight and to-the-point while keeping that garage rock vibe to it." -

We in the Greater Columbus area have come to expect the lineups of Rock on The Range, one of the nation's biggest rock festivals, to come out during February, but "Christmas came early" and now we know what to expect when the ninth version of the show rolls in next May: Slipknot, Judas Priest and Linkin Park will serve as the respective headliners.
