• Stone Temple Pilots's Scott Weiland Announces Album Release Date, Solo Tour [SCHEDULE]

Former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has announced the release date of his upcoming album "Blaster" as well as a string of tour dates in support of the album beginning in late February. According to an interview with "Rolling Stone," "Blaster" is set for release March 31 through Softdrive Records and will be Weiland's first album with his new backing band The Wildabouts. The tour in support of "Blaster" kicks off Feb. 22 in Scottsdale, Arizona, and finishes March 14 in Boston, though Weiland will be appearing at several festivals between March and May as well. "Blaster" will be Weiland's third solo album overall, his first since 2008's "'Happy' in Galoshes," as well as his first since being fired from the Stone Temple Pilots in 2013 — he was ultimately replaced by Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington. "'"Happy" in Galoshes' was an experimental art record, for the most part," Weiland tells "Rolling Stone." "'Blaster' is definitely a band sound: a stripped down, furry sound with a lot of space between the notes. But it's tight and to-the-point while keeping that garage rock vibe to it."
  • Slipknot, Linkin Park and Judas Priest Named as Headliners for Rock on The Range 2015

We in the Greater Columbus area have come to expect the lineups of Rock on The Range, one of the nation's biggest rock festivals, to come out during February, but "Christmas came early" and now we know what to expect when the ninth version of the show rolls in next May: Slipknot, Judas Priest and Linkin Park will serve as the respective headliners.
  • 10 Albums That Are Partially Self-Titled

Naming an album after yourself or your band is a very nice, simple route to take, but these 10 artists took the idea of a self-titled album and made it a little more complicated. Here are 10 albums that are partially self-titled.
  • Lana Del Rey and Sam Smith Clash for Top Spot on Billboard 200

The last two weeks have featured a noticeable lack of new albums within the 200, debuting only three new records to the public (Led Zeppelin rereleases don't count). The last week of tracking reversed the trend in a big way however, bringing six new titles to the market.
  • Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds to Mars and AFI Touring Together

Three rock bands that toe the line between alternative and mainstream rock will be teaming up this summer for a solid tour: Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds to Mars and AFI will take part in what's being called the "Carnivores Tour." We apologize for the crappy descriptor in the opening sentence, but that's really about all the bands have in common from a musical perspective...unless you know some more in-depth details about the groups involved.
  • Linkin Park Releases Remix Set Featuring Pusha T, Rick Ross, Bun B and More

New music isn't coming from Linkin Park anytime soon. Vocalist Chad Bennington is currently shacking up with the Stone Temple Pilots to create a new record and tour, and LP isn't looking to bring anyone else in, so fans will have to look forward to Recharged, an album containing remixed versions of the tracks on the band's 2012 LP Living Things.
