Lorde

  • Pitbull and Ke$ha take top Digital Downloads spot with 'Timber,' followed tightly by Eminem's 'The Monster

For once, the album sales for the previous week made more headlines than the digital downloads, but that doesn't mean that singles are doing badly at all. In fact, after just declaring last week that Eminem's "The Monster" could hold down the top spot for weeks to come, a new track took its place.
  • Lorde premieres the video for 'Team' off her debut album 'Pure Heroine' [WATCH]

Lorde has released the video "Team" off her debut album Pure Heroine. The clip takes place in what appears to be a rundown city run by teenagers — taking the lyrics of the track "We live in cities you'll never see on screen" and "Living in ruins of the palace within my dreams" and translating them literally on screen.
  • The top 10 songs of 2013 according to Lorde

'Tis the season for end-of-year lists. Surely for those following music, Lorde is probably featured on at least a few of those lists. Now the New Zealand pop star, who has owned the Billboard charts with her rise to fame this year, has released her Best of 2013 list (via Australian radio station triple j).
  • Eminem's 'The Monster' and Lorde's 'Royals' still biggest names on Digital Downloads Charts

Album sales may have been down over on the Billboard 200, but singles downloads continued to be hot over on the Digital Downloads charts. The Top 10 sold a combined 5,000 more downloads than last week-a slight rise-but still impressive considering the recent increase in mp3 sales.
  • Lorde calls music from Nicki Minaj and Drake 'Completely Irrelevant'

Lorde has made quite the impression on the music industry with her hit "Royals," but she's also made it clear that she's not afraid to say what she thinks, even it's putting down other artists. She's brave for a 17-year-old just recently hitting the scene.

VH1 You Oughta Know will give an inside look into the personal lives of the artist as well as showcase their performance. The show premieres tonight, Thursday November 21 at 9 p.m. ET. This year's roster features The Lumineers, Emeli Sandé, HAIM, JOHNNYSWIM, Matt Nathanson, Lorde and Ed Sheeran.
  • Eminem, OneRepublic and Lorde stick around at the top of the Billboard Digital Downloads charts

Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP 2 may have dropped off nearly 75 percent since last week (it still sold more than 200,000 copies), but that only meant good things for sales of his individual tracks this week.
  • Lady Gaga, Eminem and Duck Dynasty drive Billboard 200 during Mid-November

Lady Gaga had the best week of sales with 'ARTPOP,' but Eminem has already gone platinum.
  • Puddles the Clown covers Lorde's 'Royals'

Puddles the clown recently did a cover of Lorde's well-received song "Royals" for a Halloween treat.
  • 'Royals' Singer Lorde sings Ronnie James Dio and Rainbow in video from when she was 12

There's already been a load of discussion about who the "real" Lorde is. The teenager, who's found massive crossover success with hits such as "Royals" and "Tennis Court," has been accused of not being nearly as into her brand of pop/pop-hop/whatever as her songs let on. The truth about Lorde's musical background may be even more shocking than some expected. Brace yourself: The star is totally into heavy metal.
  • Lorde signs multi-million dollar publishing deal with Songs Music Publishing, will work with the likes of The Weeknd, Diplo

It was a good 17th birthday for Lorde last week. The new 17-year-old music sensation signed a publishing deal on Nov. 7, and the deal is reportedly worth millions of dollars.
  • A Great Big World surprises Digital Downloads chart with 'Say Something,' but Lorde and Eminem waiting in the wings

Eminem was in charge of the Digital Downloads charts last week, placing three different songs in the Top 10. The excellent sales of his new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 seems to have driven down his singles sales however, and the rapper only has one track this week. But that doesn't mean that Lorde's recovered the top spot yet. Read on to find out who's making waves.
