  • Jordan Cashmyer of '16 & Pregnant' Admits to Attempting Suicide After Having Daughter

Jordan Cashmyer was featured in an episode of MTV's "16 & Pregnant" that aired last June that left viewers a bit stunned. At the time she was pregnant with her daughter Genevieve and homeless in Maryland. Since having her baby last March, Cashmyer did finally secure a roof over her head, but other things fell apart. First she confirmed that she had started working in a Baltimore strip club, and now she admits her temporary silence on social media was due to a suicide attempt and subsequent hospitalization. Rather than letting rumors spin out of control, Cashmyer addressed the situation herself, writing on Facebook: "I have been struggling with a lot of different things emotionally since I had Genevieve. I was diagnosed with post partum depression and was on medication for a little while for it, but I never followed up with my appointment... My mood wouldn't stay stable for very long, I was extremely impulsive, couldn't focus, the smallest things would set me off, and my anxiety got worse, as did my depression and OCD."
  • Police Say Sash Alexander Nemphos, 16, Planned Maryland School Shooting on Halloween But Too Drunk to Do It

Just a few short weeks after Jaylen Fryberg opened fire on a table full of his closest friends at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Washington state, we are learning that another school came close to having a similar tragedy. On Saturday, Nov. 1, 16-year-old Sash Alexander Nemphos was confronted by police after being a suspect in several Monkton, Maryland, area theft cases. The teen was clearly intoxicated at the time and unveiled a plan involving a gun that he was accused of stealing. Nemphos claimed he was going to drive to school, shoot the officer who stands guard and then use his gun to kill as many kids and teachers as possible. He then told investigators he had originally intended to carry out his plan on Halloween because he had the gun in his backpack but had forgotten to bring several bombs he had built, so he postponed his plan. He chalked up his forgetfulness to being too drunk on that particular day.
  • Carlesha Freeland-Gaither Safe at Home, Delvin Barnes in Custody

Carlesha Freeland-Gaither is safe and back at home in Philadelphia after a horrific ordeal that began last Sunday night, Nov. 2, when she was abducted from a Germantown street a few blocks from her apartment. The video of Freeland-Gaither being dragged, kicking and screaming down the block, went viral and probably played a huge role in investigators finding her in relatively OK shape Wednesday night, Nov. 5, in Jessup, Maryland. Delvin Barnes is currently in custody and is actually being held on an unrelated warrant for attempted capital murder. Apparently, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents received information from Virginia that tipped them off to the notion that Barnes could be their man, and they found his vehicle late Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 4, on a road in Jessup. It had its back window kicked out, something that those who witnessed Freeland-Gaither's abduction said she had managed to do.
  • Dallas Nurse Nina Pham Reunited with Dog Bentley after His Ebola Virus Quarantine Finally Ends

Nina Pham's story came full circle yesterday when she was reunited with her King Charles spaniel named Bentley. On October 12 Pham tested positive for the virus and was transferred to National Institutes of Health in Maryland for treatment. There was a lot of initial concern for Bentley because the dog of a nurse who tested positive for Ebola in Spain was euthanized. Officials insisted that Bentley would be well cared for and that obviously was the case.
  • Olympic Champion Swimmer Michael Phelps Going to Rehab after Second DUI Bust in Baltimore

In 2004, he was also popped for a DUI and offered up a similar kind of apology as well as a promise to use better judgment in the future. At this point, Phelps seems to be admitting he needs more help to reel in his notorious partying. Phelps posted a message to fans on his Facebook page, admitting it's time to enter rehab.
