It was announced yesterday that the legendary and supremely talented Alicia Keys will be joining the MTV European Music Awards tonight, according to MTV. MTV has made a big push with the MTV EMAs, in its 20th year, in the past few years, and the channel is going all in. Possibly the most talked-about person on the planet, Nicki Minaj, will be hosting the whole affair, where we will see appearances from Enrique Iglesias, Ed Sheeran, Kiesza, Charli XCX, Ariana Grande and more. There will also be a special tribute to Ozzy Osbourne during the show. In a statement to Billboard, Bruce Gillmer, MTV EMAs executive producer, spoke about the event and what to expect. -
Calvin Harris Cancels EMA Performance Over Health
Another day, another DJ down with a sickness. Avicii has been in the news because he has had to take extended time off from touring due to lingering health concerns. Now Calvin Harris, on the eve of the MTV European Music Awards in his home country of Scotland, has to cancel his performance due to health concerns, according to "Billboard." MTV confirmed the news yesterday via its Facebook page, saying, "Hey #MTVEMA fans — we have some really sad news. Calvin Harris has taken ill and will not be able to perform at tomorrow's show. He sends his sincere apologies. Get well soon, Calvin!" Harris did not confirm himself. He is nominated for the best U.K./Ireland act and the best electronic act. -
Ozzy Osbourne to Receive Global Icon Award at MTV EMAs
After making headlines with his questionable 9/11 remarks, it has been announced that Ozzy Osbourne will be honored with the Global Icon Award at the MTV EMAs in Glasgow, Scotland, in November.
