    Former American basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers, Indiana Pacers, and Sacramento Kings, among other teams, Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest is really, really excited. So excited in fact he can't sleep. What is he excited about you may ask? The hottest female rapper in the world in his mind, Nicki Minaj, mentioned him in a song on her new The Pinkprint and he is freaking out about it. He got a shout out during the first Minaj verse of her Caribbean inspired tune "Trini Dem Girls" featuring Trinidadian rapper Lunchmoney Lewis.

    Taylor Swift's "1989" moved back into the No. 1 spot on the "Billboard" 200, bringing its total, nonconsecutive weeks at the top to six. It sold 375,000 copies last week, bringing the total for the year to 3.34 million. The record is on pace to overtake the "Frozen" soundtrack, which sold 3.46 million so far. Nicki Minaj's "The Pinkprint" sits comfortably at the No. 2 spot, "Billboard" notes.Swift is tied with Mariah Carey for total weeks at No. 1 with 30. Only one other woman has them beat with 46: Whitney Houston. The Beatles are still in first for all artists with 132 weeks at No. 1.Pentatonix has the No. 3 spot with "That's Christmas to Me." Minaj was able to crack the top 10 recently, and D'Angelo's new "Black Messiah" hit No. 5. "The Pinkprint" did not perform as well as the artist's previous effort "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded." The former sold 244,000 in its first week while the latter hit 253,000 — it also debuted at No. 1.

    Bronx rapper French Montana has teamed up with producer Detail for a remix of Beyoncé's recent single "7/11," which you can check out below. While the original track is a hard-hitting club banger, this remix replaces the synths with an airy acoustic guitar line and some piano.     Nicki Minaj has been featured on the cover of numerous magazines this year, and Rolling Stone is apparently next in line. An image of the upcoming cover surfaced today (via RapRadar), which features The Pinkprint femcee in a thin white tank-top with her breasts partially exposed. It is reportedly the cover of the publication's January 2015 issue and is the first time Minaj has graced the cover of the iconic music magazine solo.
  • Tyga Reveals New Release Date For 'The Gold Album'

    The latest rapper to have his album release date pushed back is Tyga, whose upcoming album The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty was most recently set for release today, Dec. 23, though that obviously hasn't happened (it was originally set for Nov. 18). Instead of dropping the album today, however, Tyga took to his Twitter account to announce that the album has been made available for pre-order, and revealed its actual release date: Jan. 27. The two have been nice to each other during interviews, but things hit a boiling point recently when they had a back-and-forth on Twitter, "Vibe" notes.Minaj took to social media, saying that Samuels was trying to blackmail her by selling personal videos filmed while they were still together."Anything you don't appreciate will be taken. God sees your ungrateful evil soul. I gave and gave and gave. Threatening me? Blackmail?     Madonna has caved. The entertainment icon made her upcoming effort, 'Rebel Heart,' available for pre-order and offered six songs for purchase. This all follows a bunch of leaks from earlier in the week of 10 unfinished tracks. Madonna dropped "Unapologetic Bitch," "Illuminati" and "Bitch I'm Madonna" featuring Nicki Minaj. Kanye West produced some of the tracks. The first single, "Living for Love," can also be streamed here.

    Nicki Minaj took a different approach for three of her singles from 'The Pinkprint.' The rapper merged "The Crying Game," "I Lied" and "Grand Piano" into a three-part mini film. Minaj plays the protagonist who is in a failing relationship and the three tracks set the tone for the entire video. While it's not autobiographical, the relationship seems to mirror what's going on in Minaj's personal life.
