Kantner died at 74 this past Thursday of both septic shock and organ failure. It has also been reported that he suffered a heart attack. Kantner is remembered as being a very influential figure in the San Francisco rock scene of the 1960’s. -

He was best known as the keyboardist for the legendary English rock bands Small Faces and Faces and also for his collaborations with The Rolling Stones. According to The Austin Chronicle the musician passed away today at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas at 2:39 p.m. CST. -

Sugarhill Gang founding member Henry "Big Bank Hank" Jackson died today (Nov. 11) at the age of 57. The New York rapper suffered kidney complications due to cancer, which he had been battling for some time, according to Fox News. Jackson formed the Sugarhill hang with Master Gee and Wonder Mic and recorded the hit 1979 song "Rapper's Delight," which is largely regarded as the first rap record and sold several million copies worldwide, establishing rap as the mainstream genre it is today. -

He was the former A&R Director for Daywind Records, having retired last year after 16 years of faithful service. Visitation for Norman Holland will be on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 1 p.m., until 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation. -

Tim Wilson, the Columbus, Georgia hometown boy made good, passed away on February 26, 2014 at age 52 from a heart attack.
