• Katy Perry Explains How NFL Was 'Boss Daddy' During Super Bowl Halftime Preparation

By all accounts, performing at the NFL Super Bowl halftime show is an incredibly nerve-wracking thing to do. Missy Elliott said her anxiety levels were off the charts before her set last Sunday, Feb. 1, and Katy Perry recently revealed that her preparation was no walk in the park, either. "In my show, I am boss daddy," she told "Elle," referring to her typical world tour setup. "I am boss mommy. They call me Boss. Everything goes through my eyes; I call all the shots, 100 percent of it."
  • One of Katy Perry's Sharks From Her Super Bowl Performance Did an AMA

The Northeastern and Northwestern sections of the United States wake up in different moods this morning, but for the rest of us without a stake in the fight, we have been left with some interesting images from the Super Bowl. Many will remember Darrell Bevell's terrible call on the goal line to call quick slants when Marshawn Lynch could have punched that in, but Katy Perry's halftime show had some interesting visual pieces that will make forgetting Bevell a little easier. One of the most iconic members of her halftime show were the two sharks that flanked the "Roar" singer as she sang "California Gurls" with a playful, tropical backdrop of palm trees, beach balls and, infamously, two dancing sharks. One of the sharks just did a brief Reddit AMA -- which is below -- and answered a few of the burning questions fans have for the veteran of the Katy Perry crew.

Celebrities like John Legend and 2 Chainz were in the audience for the show as well, "Billboard" noted.
  • Seattle vs. New England: Spotify Compares and Contrasts Music Listening in Super Bowl Competitiors' Hometowns

Music Times made an attempt several weeks ago to predict the winner of the Super Bowl based on quality of albums coming out of the regions represented in the AFC and NFC Championship Games. So far so good: Seattle is facing New England, as we predicted, but will the Seahawks triumph? Who knows? Not Spotify. The music streaming service did use its numbers-tracking technology to create two playlists of songs representing the performers that listeners in the respective regions listen in far greater numbers than their foes on the opposite coast.
  • NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's 'Soul Searching' Has Lead Him to Decide That He'll Never Resign

It has been a really bad season for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell who has had to deal with one scandal after another since last September. There have been various domestic violence cases within the league, Adrian Peterson was accused of abusing his young son and then there was the Ray Rice scandal that has yet to fully go away. While Goodell has insisted that he never say the surveillance footage of Rice knocking his wife out cold, until the whole world saw it on TMZ, not many seem to believe him. Then came deflategate, a situation that has yet to be resolved even though the Super Bowl is just hours away.
  • NFL Shares Chilling Domestic Violence PSA [WATCH]

After Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was suspended indefinitely by the NFL in September for punching his then-fiancee and now-wife Janay Rice in the face and knocking her unconscious, the league went to work on revamping its domestic abuse policy. In addition to heavier consequences for players, the NFL worked up the No More advertising campaign, which has been running commercials about domestic violence ever since. The league recently shared its powerful Super Bowl PSA spot, and it is chilling.
  • Lenny Kravitz Joins Katy Perry Super Bowl Halftime Show as 'Special Guest'

Last year, Bruno Mars got the Red Hot Chili Peppers to join his Super Bowl halftime performance. There was really no need for the addition, from an aesthetic point of view, because Mars killed it on his own — but the NFL and Fox decided they needed to appeal to an older audience. This year, Katy Perry was expected to have enough firepower to perform her own gig, but the "Teenage Dream" singer just announced she is adding Lenny Kravitz to the show. "My first special guest is going to be an incredible rock & roll icon, a guitar god," Perry told NBC's Willie Geist in an interview set to air Monday, Jan. 12, on "The Today Show," via "Rolling Stone." E! reports the 30-year-old singer was pumped about the addition of Kravitz, an international sensation with two U.S. mainstream rock No. 1 hits — "Are You Gonna Go My Way" and "Fly Away" — under his belt.
  • Super Bowl National Anthem: Blake Shelton's Rumored Singer

The final piece of the Super Bowl music puzzle — Who will sing the national anthem? — has yet to be solved, but a recent report from "Hollywood Life" indicates that country star and "The Voice" judge Blake Shelton will do the honors. "The Super Bowl organizers are looking to mix it up a little bit for the person to do the national anthem," a source told "HL." "They want a guy and they have asked Blake Shelton." Apparently, Blake has not been answering his phone, though. "He hasn't responded to it yet but they are anticipating a yes and they want to make the announcement during an upcoming playoff game," the source said. "So they are looking to lock the performer in by the end of the week. But Blake is on the top of the list." If Blake is officially announced as the singer, he will join a cast of music stars already in place for the big game. Katy Perry will perform at the Pepsi Super Bowl XLIX halftime show at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona Feb. 1, 2014. She follows Bruno Mars's 2014 performance, which kicked a-- and drew an unprecedented 115.3 million viewers. Check out the Pepsi-sponsored Perry preview below:
