    Whether it's regarding her massive album sales, reaping of tons of country music awards, or just her young 23 years of age, many in the country music fandom (and even the country music industry), don't feel the songstress has done her due diligence to be held in the same light as other stars of the genre. These critics were undoubtedly not pleased by the announcement of the band that will be backing Swift when she performs her hit "Red" during the Country Music Association Awards in November.

    All the chatter out of Nashville in the last few days has been about Taylor Swift winning her sixth Nashville Songwriters Association International Songwriter of The Year Award (plus the opening of her new education center at the Country Music Hall of Fame). Congratulations to her, but let's give some credit to the four individuals who were enshrined in the NSAI Hall of Fame on Sunday. Swift will get there eventually we're sure, but these guys deserve some spotlight.

    The Taylor Swift Education Center opened over the weekend at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The country-pop star donated $4 million to the center as part of its expansion campaign, the Associated Press reported.

    The 2013 American Music Awards Nominations were announced today at two events hosted by Kelly Clarkson and Will.i.am. Breakout Seattle hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are in the lead with six nominations for categories including Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Album, Favorite Pop/Rock Band or Duo and the new category Single of the Year (for their song "Thrift Shop"). Following close behind are Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift who each five each.

A source told Us Weekly that "both of them are fans of each other and excited to work together."

    The Country Music Association revealed the nominees for the 47th annual CMA Awards today live from New York at 9:45 a.m. Sheryl Crow and Florida Georgia Line made announcements for major nominees on Good Morning America and unveiled the rest of the nominees for the 12 categories at the Best Buy Theater.

    Luke Bryan admitted in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that "it sucks" for women in the country music genre right now. Although this isn't quite as liberating as hearing Jay Z declare that "women is pimps too," Bryan is currently at the top of the country game (and the music game in general, having topped the Billboard 200 for two straight weeks with his album "Crash My Party") and perhaps in a position to do something about it.
