Shortly after announcing the nominees for the upcoming 2024 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction, Mark Ronson is eagerly rooting for his stepfather's group, Foreigner, to secure a spot this year.

To show his support, the music producer shared a For Your Consideration video showcasing clips of Slash, musicians from Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack Black, and other talented rock stars.

Throughout the video, Dave Grohl expresses his deep admiration for the band from when he got hold of Foreigners first album. He reveals how he has integrated their iconic drum riffs into his music.

Simultaneously, Jack Black captures a comical scene of himself energetically jamming to the music.

In the clip, straight-forward statistics about Foreigner were shared. One notable fact is Foreigner's impressive record of selling over 80 million albums.

In Mark's lengthy Instagram caption, the Brit is urging his followers to vote for Foreigner to be inducted into the 2024 Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.

"Everything that made me want to be a record producer came from being in the studio watching Foreigner make records."

"I'm still completely in awe of the sound of those first five albums. Guitars with swagger and bite. Heavy drums that groove like a mutha with the bass. Wide layers of synths. And then there's that voice. And those songs. It's really crazy."

"It's also kind of crazy that this is the first time they've ever been on the ballot for the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame - after 20 years of eligibility."

Mick Jones' Health Diagnosis

News of the nominees for the 2024 Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction comes before the recent medical diagnosis of Mick Jones, founder of Foreigner, disclosed his decision to step away from the group's farewell tour that started in 2022.

Mick said in a social media post, "Several years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease."

"I want everyone to know that I am doing alright. However, I've always liked to be at my best when performing onstage, and sadly, at present, I find that a bit difficult."

Mark Ronson Nominated for An Oscar For 'Barbie' Soundtrack

In the running for an Oscar in the Original Song category at the Academy Awards is "Barbie's" catchy tune "I'm Just Ken."

Crafted by the duo Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, the song was born out of a compelling discussion with director Greta Gerwig for the Warner Bros. feature film.

The "Nothing Breaks Like A Heart" hitmaker was inspired to create Ken's iconic song after delving into the script and gaining a deeper insight into his role in the world of "Barbie."

Speaking to Post Magazine, Mark described Ken's character in the movie as "tragic," adding, "It felt really interesting to potentially make the Ken song vulnerable and kind of tug on your heartstrings a bit. Ken's story is more awkward because he's not as smart and enlightened as Barbie. So, his getting out his feelings is clumsy and ridiculous. But, I was so taken with it and genuinely moved."

Mark Ronson's second Oscar nomination for "Barbie" is just another milestone in his career.

The 48-year-old British-born DJ previously succeeded an Academy Award for his contribution as a co-writer on "Shallow," the acclaimed song performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the hit film "A Star Is Born."
