Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes had a whirlwind romance a few years ago. At the time, they collaborated on the song "Señorita," and when the pandemic happened, they opted to quarantine together. In 2021, they shocked the world by announcing that they were breaking up.

Fast forward to 2024, as fans still hope the two will get a second chance to get back together; Cabello explained that it will not happen anymore.

The musician recently appeared on Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy" podcast and bravely opened up about her relationship with Mendes.

Speaking about reconciling with ex-lovers, Cabello said, "I, personally, I think it's known; I'm a fan." From what fans could remember, the pair briefly reunited at Coachella in 2023 when they were spotted kissing in the crowd two years after their breakup.

"If I feel it, I say it and I'm not really good at not doing that. Because the worst place for it to live is my mind," she added. (via People Magazine)

The musician then compared herself to Ryan Gosling's role in the movie "The Notebook," where he would build a house for a person.

Why Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes Reconciliation Didn't Work Out

She added that she "opted for that route," referencing their brief reconciliation in 2023 after their two-year relationship.

Cabello added that both of them had a "great route," had "fun," and that it was "a fun moment" for them.

However, she later added that they decided not to continue their relationship the second time around because "it doesn't feel right."

At the time, she reflected that she was in a place in her life that it took her less time to realize that.

Camila Cabello Will Always Care For Shawn Mendes

Even though their relationship didn't work out and they're not romantically involved with one another anymore, Cabello said she will always care and love Mendes.

She considers him a good person, and she's lucky not to have had awful exes, as the "Mercy" hitmaker is a "really kind, good person."

The recent interview comes a few months after it was reported that the ex-couple became "friendly" for a few months after their breakup, and they were spotted being sweet at Coachella.

Before that, they were in a relationship from 2019 to 2021.
