Zayn Malik and Harry Styles have had an amazing friendship for years now, as both were members of One Direction.

More recently, the musician recalled one moment during their tour that he couldn't forget: saving the life of his bandmate.

The musician, set to release a new album this year, appeared in an episode of "Hot Ones" with Sean Evans, in which he shared a moment during One Direction's touring days.

He revealed that there was one time when Styles' life was almost in danger as he walked straight into pyrotechnics, but Malik came to the rescue before something terrible happened.

"On stage, Harry was right next to a pyro, and the pyro was about to go off, because they were on timers. He had a towel over his head, and he had his head over the pyro and he didn't see that the pyro was there," he recalled.

Billboard noted that the incident happened in 2013, and a video was shared online showing the singer with a towel on his head. Since he was busy wiping his face, he didn't notice where he was headed.

"You see me run from one side of the stage and push him out of the way... that was really dangerous," he added.

Zayn Malik New Album Inspiration

A week before the announcement, he noted that the intention behind the album is for the listeners to gain more insight into his personal life, including his fears and ambitions.

Rolling Stone previously reported that the entire album was written while Malik was in Pennsylvania. Dave Cobb is producing the upcoming project.

"It's raw... It's just me writing this. I didn't want anybody else to be in between me and the music and the music and the people listening to it," the singer added.
