Usually when Neil Young is performing a song, he's sneering into a microphone, guitar in hand, while a band with electric instruments backs the accomplished musician. In a video for Young's new single "Who's Gonna Stand Up," the artist performs with a 92-piece orchestra to shake things up for his upcoming album, Storytone.

Young's always been a fan of the do-what-you-want mentality, so seeing him in a room full of violins and choir singers while a conductor instructs the musicians isn't too shocking. As Rolling Stone recently reported, Young completed the orchestral version of his 35th studio effort without overdubbing his vocals. He described the record, scheduled for a November 4 release, as "the most different thing that I've ever attempted." Check out his powerful performance below.

Yesterday (October 10), Young shared some details of the new album, including the tracklist (see below). In addition to the new album, the singer is also releasing a book titled Special Deluxe: A Memoir of Life & Cars on October 14. ''I wrote about anything that came to mind in the history of things that had to do with a car — and that's almost everything!'' he told Brian Hiatt. ''These are my memories — they made me what I am.''

Young has been on the road for awhile now, recently playing two sold-out shows at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. During the first gig, Young dropped some news on the crowd regarding the supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. "CSNY will never tour again, ever ... but I love those guys," he said.
