British R&B singer FKA twigs has shared the disturbing music video for her latest single “Video Girl,” which you can check out below. The Kahlil Joseph-directed clip finds FKA twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, dancing and singing the song inside a death chamber while a prisoner is being executed.

Other than the dark subject matter, the video is also unusual in that it includes a sort of prologue, with Barnett singing her abstract album opener “Preface” before “Video Girl” kicks in.

"Video Girl" is the third single to be shared from FKA twigs’s debut album LP1, following "Two Weeks" and "Pendulum." The album is one of 12 nominees for the 2014 Mercury Prize, the winner of which is being announced tonight, Oct. 29, at the Roundhouse in London.

She is favored to take home the prize, which honors the best album of the year by a British or Irish artist.
