Shawn Mendes has officially transitioned from Vine stardom to being a bona fide pop star in the making. After releasing his own singles "Life of the Party" and "Something Big" and getting that much coveted tour opener spot on Taylor Swift's 1989 Tour. And now, Mendes has "Something Big" of his own to announce: a debut album.

The 16-year-old singer announced that he will be dropping his first studio album, Handwritten, on April 28, according to MTV.com. And in case three months is just a little too long to wait for new music from the brown eyed, baby-faced singer, the album will be available for pre-order beginning Feb. 2.

And the pre-order will contain five previously unreleased songs, including "A Little Too Much."

As well as the album title and release date announcement, Handwritten also received its cover art.

Echoing the album's title, Mendes appears in the center of the album cover, wearing a simple black T-shirt and a look of wonderment on his face. Behind him, is a similarly black colored background with handwritten song lyrics scribbled on the wall.

The announcement of Handwritten is a long time coming for Mendes. Now 16 years old, Mendes was discovered in 2013 after posting six-second covers of pop songs on Vine, amassing millions of followers.

Though Handwritten is Mendes's first official album, he did release the Shawn Mendes EP in July 2014.
