Kate Middleton is about six weeks away from delivering her second bundle of joy, and it sounds like her handlers decided to let her have a bit of fun. After several months of royal engagements, charity events and traveling while pregnant, the duchess is going to visit the set of one of her favorite television shows. Kensington Palace announced this morning that she will be visiting the set of Downton Abbey next week.

According to a new report by Us Weekly, "Prince William's pregnant wife will drop in on Ealing Studios in London on Thursday, March 12. While there, she'll tour the set and meet with cast and crew of the Emmy-winning series. (Per the Telegraph, Ealing is where a lot of the indoor scenes are filmed for Downton; the show also shoots at Highclere Castle near Newbury, Berkshire.)"

Downton is said to be one of Middleton's favorite shows, and shortly after Prince George was born, William also confirmed that he was newly converted by his wife. While this is obviously not earth-shattering news, it is nice to see that Middleton's handlers decided to reward her with an appearance that will actually be fun. So often she and the rest of the royal family are scheduled to appear at events that are super serious. For once her smile will be about as genuine as it can get.

The visit to Downton may well be the last appearance Middleton makes until after her next heir to the throne is born. Rumor has it that she is expecting a princess this time around that might be named after the late Princess Diana. While Queen Elizabeth would not be thrilled with the choice, insiders seem to think that Middleton and William would ultimately win any battle over what to name their daughter.
