SFX and ID&T have canceled their first major event on the West Coast, One Tribe Festival. The one-day festival was slated to feature the likes of Kygo, Tycho, Gramatik, Jamie Jones and more, but now those artists will have a free day on their schedule. According to organizers, the fest was canceled "due to a mix of unforeseen events and circumstances."

The festival has been plagued with problems for months ever since it was announced in the spring. It has struggled to sell tickets in a crowded Southern California festival market that includes other massives from HARD Events like Hard Summer and Hard Day Of The Dead, as well as various Insomniac events throughout the calendar year. The success of the new CRSSD Festival has also created very stiff competition in a more alternative and underground-oriented festival space. Other events from Desert Hearts, the inaugural Dirtybird Campout and Lightning In A Bottle all have similar vibes and lineups.

Though organizers say One Tribe isn't being outright canceled for good, they do admit it is being "indefinitely postponed," which is a nail in the coffin for this year and could spell the end of the festival if they are unable to create a brand that is able to differentiate itself from its stiff competition.

ID&T's parent company, SFX, has gone through some very difficult times financially recently with a plummeting stock price as Chairman and CEO Robert Sillerman attempts to take the company private and it appears as though the firm is headed for the chopping block. This has left SFX vulnerable and could mean they are looking to minimize risk by canceling the festival all together.
