As was previously reported, Killer Mike and Bernie Sanders sat down for a six-part political conversation at Mike's barbershop in Edgewood, Georgia. The conversation spanned six videos, each concerning a separate topic. These videos were given labels, including "Economic Freedom," "Social Justice," "A Rigged Economy," "Free Health Care: It Ain't a Big Deal," "This Country Was Started as an Act of Political Protest," and "Democrats Win When People Vote."

Mike, a consummate interviewer, spoke of his childhood in Georgia. He explained that, although he is a capitalist and has always sought new wells of revenue. As a child, Mike said, he and his friends would sell candy in school, fish they had caught, and other goods, always striving to make more and get ahead in society. However, Mike then shared the story of his neighbor whose yard he mowed every week. After his wages decreased, Mike told his mother he'd like to quit. However, she explained that Mike's neighbor no longer had the money to pay him his previous rate. Mike realized, at that moment, that she deserved to have her lawn cut, no matter the cost. To Mike, just because she lost a portion of her income, did not mean she had to lose her dignity.

According to HipHopDX, in the first of six videos, Mike asked Bernie, "What is socialism and what does it mean to the Black community?"

"What it means to me, what it means to the Black community, what it means to the American community is the understanding that when we talk about rights, you have freedom of speech," Sanders says. "You can go out on the corner and give a speech. You have the constitutional right to do that. But you know what, to be truly free, you need economic rights as well. So you can go out and give a speech, but you don't have any food in your stomach, you don't have a house, roof over your head, you don't have any education, are you really free?"
