Deck13, the German studio and team of developers that brought us one of the biggest video games of last year, Lords of the Fallen, this week revealed some new details about the upcoming RPG title, The Surge. This highly anticipated game doesn't have a release date set, but it's already drawing comparisons to BioShock and Dark Souls. In a new interview, CEO and creative director Jan Klose revealed more about the gameplay and story experience of The Surge. Read more below.

"The universe of The Surge is a lot about broken systems, like technical systems but also economic systems and society itself," Klose tells IGN in a new interview this week. "And it's about systems that seem to have long collapsed and still go on and on every day, not noticing their own death, up to a point of total failure which triggers the Surge."

Regarding the comparisons to other popular titles, Klose explains that the story behind the game might "might remind [you] more of BioShock than Dark Souls."

Klose goes into more gameplay details, so check out the full interview right here!

While we don't have any more information about the game, aside from some concept art and screenshots of in-development gameplay footage, The Surge is still one of the most talked about games of 2015, and will most likely be in 2016.
