Cady Groves, the pop and country singer, passed away last Saturday, May 2, according to her brother. The singer, who was 30 years, died of natural causes as confirmed by her brother and her record label.

The late singer's brother, Cody Groves, posted on Twitter last Sunday that his sister, Cady, was in her Nashville home during the time of her passing, but there was no indication yet of the cause of death. The report was confirmed by Vel Records, her record label through an official statement: "Her death appears to be from natural causes, pending a final coroner's report."

The same message from her label was echoed by Cody on a succeeding post that foul play and suicide have been ruled out by the authorities. To quote, he wrote: "The medical examiner has completed autopsy, and there was no indication of foul play or self-harm." The brother admitted though that the singer-songwriter, who was living by herself, had medical issues in the Fall of 2019. The best guess of the family until "further testing is complete," is that "they had resurfaced," in reference to the singer's health concerns.

Cody's initial post saying that "Details are limited right now" had some netizens questioning the real reason for her death. Cady's older brother did not take their comments sitting down, saying that the "world and internet is a cluster of twisted information." It was on his second tweet where he provided the update about the coroner's findings that she died of natural causes "to expel rumors." Her brother appealed, "Please respect her name and family," and stressed, "before sharing information that did not come directly from here."

However, even on his explanatory post, some trolls still had a mouthful of comments to which Cody responded -

On his latest tweet, the older brother expressed his gratitude to those who extended their sympathies and "kind words/stories" to the family amid the nasty comments he received. He even joked that he could have selected a better photo if he had known that his news would land on the internet/tabloids.

The Groves family had earlier lost two other siblings at a young age. An older brother of Cady, Casey, who was 28 at that time, passed away in October 2007 due to prescription drug abuse. After seven years in March 2014, another brother Kelly succumbed to death with addiction to a prescription drug after a severe car accident. He was also 28. Cady was the youngest of the seven siblings. Cady had been sharing posts on Instagram, revealing her struggles being alone in quarantine. On March 24, she poured out her heart for the pain of losing Kelly six years ago.

Cady Groves and her music

On Cady Groves's official website, Vel Records posted that the late singer was upon her sleeves doing a summer EP. Kansas-born Groves had been working last year on "material with the team from Shane McAnally's SMACKSongs." She had signed a contract with the Thirty Tigers label and was expected to do a summer 2020 release.

Groves's first venture into the music industry came from her 2009 EP "A Month of Sundays." Three more EP's were released: "The Life of a Pirate" in 2010, "This Little Girl" in 2012, and "Dreams" in 2015. Her singles included the songs "This Little Girl," "We're The Shit," and "Love Actually." She started in the pop genre and transitioned to country music.
