Ne-Yo's wife is filing for divorce and alleging that he recently fathered a child with another woman, putting an end to their marriage.

Crystal Renay, who wed Ne-Yo in February 2016, filed divorce papers in Atlanta earlier this week, claiming the couple's marriage is irretrievably shattered and beyond repair.

Smith reveals that despite the fact that she and Ne-Yo have three children together, he just fathered a child with another woman, as reported by TMZ. Crystal identifies the couple's date of separation as July 22, 2022, and states that she has been caring for the three children since then.

Crystal requests primary physical custody and shared legal custody of the children, as well as child support and alimony.

Crystal filed for divorce from Ne-Yo in 2020 but later withdrew her case. The couple's relationship has been rocky throughout the years. According to a report by TMZ, the couple re-celebrated their love in Las Vegas in 2022 with a "second" wedding.

With the release of his eighth studio album, "Self Explanatory," last week, American R&B musician Ne-Yo is allowing his music to speak for itself.

The timing of this marriage scandal and subsequent divorce is quite impeccable. it can be remembered that Ne-Yo just released his new album and one of the tracks detailed his "mistakes" in his marriage. At the time of the album's release, everyone just assumed that he must have some of the usual marriage slights, but not enough to wonder if he's on his way to a divorce.

The track, "Don't Love Me," was originally written as an open letter to his wife and describes the mistakes he made in his marriage.

In this song, he says he just wants his wife to be happy, "walk away," and don't love him.

He even said he is at a stage wherein he's not that stressed anymore about his music.

The three-time Grammy winner stated that composing songs at this stage of his career is simpler and less stressful.

"I think my definition of success is kind of changed a little bit. It's not so much about selling a whole bunch of records and getting a whole bunch of awards," he said.

"Now it's about, am I satisfied with what I've put out into the world?"

portion of the 13-track album was composed during the pandemic, which, according to the artist, afforded him the opportunity to focus on the connections he was taking for granted.

Ne-Yo stated in a recent interview that he remained a fan of R. Kelly, who was sentenced to 30 years in jail for racketeering and sex crimes back in July.
