Britney Spears sympathized and apologized to Alexa Nikolas after the latter revealed her experience working at the kid's channel, Nickelodeon; as well as her conflict with Spear's sister, Jamie Lynn-which led to the pop star to "yell" at her.

"Although I have apologized to you personally just my 'instinct,' my heart at the time didn't know how incredibly good my family was with the acting language," Spears wrote in a lengthy note addressed to the child star.

"[...] So I apologize for my ignorance for yelling at you when I obviously had no idea what was really going on."

According to reports, Spear's sister accused Nikolas of bullying her on the set of the hit Nickelodeon series, "Zoey 101," which aired from 2005 to 2008.

Jamie Lynn doubled down on her accusations years later as she wrote about the "bullying" in her memoir, released earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Nikolas addressed the bullying claims and shared her side of the story.

The actress accused Jamie Lynn of "lying up a storm," however, she also noted, "It wasn't okay because I was a 12 [or] 13-year-old, but in retrospect, knowing the dynamic that was in place for her, I think, of course, that's what ended up happening. And I think ... poor Britney. She is in a horrible situation there."

Apology

Spear explained why she reacted the way she did in her tweet, "just imagine... me visiting my little sister on her set, last day of shooting, bringing sprinkles cupcakes... [nine] months pregnant, hormones raging like hell and the assistant director, Ian, witnessing Jamie Lynn running to me, placing her hands on my knees while I'm sitting down, "Her sobbing, telling me that she's being bullied on set. The assistant director and my mom included in the room were silent." She also continued to say that she saw Jamie Lynn as "literally [her] sister growing up." She accused her mother of not controlling the situation, and that she should have just sat back and enjoyed a cupcake. "It's always been extremely interesting, the situations my family has put me in to make me embarrassed," she added.

Thanks

After Spear's apology, the former Nickelodeon star went on Instagram to accept the pop star's apology, "[Britney Spears], I'm sitting here crying with my jaw on the floor. Thank you for seeing me and listening to me. Thank you for apologizing." "As you know I forgive you. You have always been my biggest inspiration and strength since I was 6 years old. [...] This is honestly one of the kindest things anyone has ever done for me. We forget as a society how much support and love impacts us." Nikolas also added that her "child self and current self" marveled at Spears and how she was an "incredible person."
