It would seem like the Academy Awards won't be having that complete lineup of performers for the 95th Oscars this year.

This is because the Academy has confirmed that Lady Gaga has confirmed that she is a no-go for the event.

Lady Gaga Oscars Performance

According to Billboard, showrunner Glenn Weiss confirmed in a press conference that Gaga wouldn't be attending nor performing as she was busy filming for "Joker: Folie à Deux" with Joaquin Phoenix.

Per Weiss' explanation, Gaga could not give the performance and commitment that it would need for her to meet the expectations of performing for the show.

Gaga earned her second Best Original Song nomination for her lyrics and performance of "Hold My Hand" from the movie "Top Gun: Maverick." She got her first Academy Award last 2018 with "Shallow" in the same category.

Notably, she beat out frontrunners Kendrick Lamar and SZA for "All The Stars" from "Black Panther." Since "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is also nominated in the same category this year, it would be a rematch between the movie's entry and another Gaga's nominated song.

Oscars 2023 Performers

Nonetheless, the show wouldn't be short of star power as Rihanna would be present in the evening as she would be performing her song "Lift Me Up" from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

Diane Warren, who has been gunning for a win at the category since 1987, is also slated to perform with Sofia Carson for their song "Applause" for "Tell It Like A Woman."

"RRR's" "Naatu Naatu" will also be performed in the evening, marking the show's first Indian performance since 2008.

Lastly, "This Is A Life" by Son Lux, David Byrne, and Mitski will also be performed, but Best Supporting Actress nominee Stephanie Hsu will be filling in for the latter.

In the past decades, the Academy has invited Best Original Song nominees to perform their respective songs at the actual ceremony.

Oscars Best Original Song Performances

It was at the 92nd Academy Awards, or the 2019 Oscars, were all Best Original Song Nominees last performed. The ceremony, which featured the second year of being hostless, was a staggering success.

It was a star-studded night at the time as Tony-winning actress and singer Cynthia Erivo performed "Stand Up" from Harriet," Randy Newman performed "I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away" from "Toy Story 4," Chrissy Metz sang "I'm Standing with You" from "Breakthrough," and Elton John performed "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again" from "Rocketman."

The ensemble of "Frozen II," including Idina Menzel, also performed "Into the Unknown."

Ultimately, it was Elton John who took home the award for "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again" from "Rocketman."
