Katy Perry Attends King Charles' Coronation But Goes Viral For 'Obnoxious' Reason

Katy Perry had a spectacular entry to Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6.

She witnessed King Charles III's coronation ceremony and was also one of the headliners for the grand coronation concert on May 7.

For her noble appearance, she wore a vibrant light pink suit paired with an equally impressive matching hat.

As soon as she stepped into view, it was clear who had arrived at this auspicious event.

The mom-of-one and ambassador for King Charles' charity, British Asian Trust, was given a special invitation before her performance at Windsor Castle this Sunday.

Her attention-grabbing pink adornment headpiece prompted people to take to Twitter and comment on her ensemble.

The response to Katy Perry's pink cap was intense, as one user called it "obnoxious," whereas another declared that you wouldn't want to be seated behind her in Westminster Abbey.

To further illustrate this point, a photo of the inside of Westminster Abbey with the oversized headgear obscuring much of the view was posted online with the caption "POV; You're sat behind Katy Perry and her big pink hat."

Meanwhile, the world watched in amusement as the "I Kissed A Girl" singer encountered difficulty locating her seat at the King's Coronation.

In a video seen on social media, she was seen asking British Vogue Editor Edward Enninful for guidance before scanning the area.

After a few moments of confusion, the singer finally walked to an area of seated guests and pointed to a row, seemingly verifying that it was indeed her spot.

One person said, "It is believed that she is still out there, searching for her seat."

At hearing this, an amused chuckle came from a social media user who couldn't help but quote the artist's smash single" Firework" ''At that moment, she felt a bit like a plastic bag''" they said with a laugh.

Ahead of her grand entrance to a castle, Katy shared with Extra TV the excitement she felt for her upcoming sleepover at Windsor Castle.

She revealed that it was something she could never have imagined and gave insight into how thrilling the adventure would be.

The singer also promised her fans she would be giving them "what they deserve," and that her experience at the Coronation was "very regal" and that the request for her to perform aligned with her values.
