Since the untimely passing of Kelis' husband, Mike Mora, last year from stomach cancer at the tragically young age of 37, she has found comfort and solace in the company of Bill Murray, 72.
Now 43 years old, the famous "Milkshake" singer generates a string of rumors suggesting they are embarking on a romantic relationship.
But before her marriage to Mike, Kelis had been in a tumultuous relationship with rapper Nas (Nasir Jones).
The difficulties within their union were compounded by "physical and mental abuse," enough so that Kelis decided to depart from her then-partner.
At the same time, she was seven months pregnant with their son Knight Jones.
While Kelis found herself in a difficult situation, the drama between Rihanna and Chris Brown helped her gain inner strength. This celebrated saga ultimately led to her decision to split from Nas.
At the age of 22, Kelis came across the artist who was 28 years old, and shortly after, they pledged themselves to one another on 8th January 2005. Unfortunately, stories concerning domestic abuse began to surface only five years into matrimony.
Kelis explained during that time, "It was dark. It was really dark."
"There was a lot of drinking. There was a lot of physical and mental abuse. And it just got to the point where... God is so good, because being pregnant - I probably would have stayed longer had I not been pregnant. Because I really did love him and we were married. This was my person."
The singer confessed, "Did he hit me? Mhmm. Did I hit him back? Mhmm."

"He would black out. He would drink too much. He drank way too much. He will never admit it... so a lot of the stuff he may not remember.
Kelis explained that it was a moment that stood out in my mind like no other- the day when the pictures of Rihanna abused by Chris Brown surfaced.
The singer explained that even back then, with bruises covering her body, it was clear she could not step out into the public eye. Not because of any weakness but rather due to an overwhelming desire for privacy, a need for those closest to this situation to know what was going on between her and Nas before anyone else did.
