Beyonce was seen using an autocue during her "Renaissance Tour," which baffled fans who have no idea what an autocue is, what it is for, and why would the singer even need it in the first place.

Despite months and months of rehearsing, the "Cuff It" singer wants to make sure that her highly anticipated world tour will be worth every penny her fans have spent on it-even if it means having a huge screen showing her song lyrics.

According to reports, Beyonce's autocue was placed at the back of the floor pit section, as it won't obstruct the audience's view of the stage.

Some fans found it jarring, considering that the singer is just 41 years old-does she no longer remember her own song lyrics?

Beyonce's Autocue

The reason is more simple and straight to the point than some fans think; the autocue is for Beyonce's older songs, ones that she might need some help remembering the lyrics of.

A source revealed that Beyonce herself decided to have it during her tour to avoid any "slip-ups."

"She has a lot of dance moves to remember as well as the words to the songs," another insider said.

Autocue is nothing new in the music industry. Artists tend to gravitate towards it to deliver a flawless performance.

It is basically a teleprompter for the performer, placed either at the edge of the stage or facing the performer, in Beyonce's case, it was placed a few feet away from her. The screen shows the lyrics of the songs, or even cues for the performer.

According to reports, autocues are now being used more frequently in performances like concerts and theatrical performances.

Beyonce's 'Renaissance Tour'

It is no wonder Beyonce needs an autocue-the singer's tour boasts a career-spanning setlist, some of the songs she has not performed live in decades.

The setlist boasts 40 songs, including some songs from her debut studio album "Diva"; as well as her succeeding albums like "Black Parade," "Run the World (Girls)," "Formation" "No Angel," "Dangerously in Love," a medley of "Alien Superstar" and "Sweet Dreams," and more.

While some fans worried about the singer's memory, others joked about her fabulous eyesight.

"Must have damn good eyesight as her autocue, albeit in giant font, is about 80m from the stage!" A fan jested.

"Absolutely obsessed with Beyoncé's autocue," another added.

"The way they have "Give yourselves a round of applause" on Beyoncé's autocue."
