Richie Sambora and Bon Jovi

Richie self-released an album via a hard rock group called Message in 1980. At the time, Richie co-founded Message with the late Dean Fasano. Not too long afterwards, Sambora went on a two-week trip to Los Angeles to audition as a member of the band, Kiss. However, he didn't succeed in his audition for the said band. On Richie's return trip to New Jersey, though, a friend offered to introduce Sambora to fellow musician, Jon Bon Jovi. In 1983, Richie has replaced Dave Sabo as Bon Jovi's guitarist, and Bon Jovi was signed on at Mercury records.

Richie Sambora and Bon Jovi Hits, Accomplishments, and Accolades

Bon Jovi's third album,"Slippery When Wet" was the band's most successful record. "Slippery When Wet" was the key to paving the way for the debut of hair metal in the music industry. Sambora composed nine of the ten tracks off this album. As a result, Richie got a handful of financial royalties from the sales of the highest selling album in the US in 1987.

Richie was likewise successful in the release of two solo albums, namely, "Keep the Faith" and "These Days." The release of these two albums coincided with Richie's world tour as a solo artist, in which he visited and performed in 43 countries. Among the awards Bon Jovi has under its belt are Favorite Duo or Group-Pop/Rock in the American Music Awards (1988) and the American Music Award of Merit (2004).
