Chvrches has been taking a break for a while now and fans have been wanting them to come back and release new music. However, it appears that it won't happen anytime soon as their vocalist, Lauren Mayberry, just announced that she's going solo and will release new songs in the near future.
Taking to her official Instagram account, the musican reflected on the 10th anniversary of the band's first album which was released in 2013.
She noted in the caption that she met her bandmates Martin Doherty and Iain Cook when she was 23 years old and through the years, they managed to achieve big things together.
Mayberry added that she's proud of all the chapter that the group was able to have with her and she's grateful for her bandmates for everything.
Lauren Mayberry Solo Music Amid Chvrches Hiatus
Later in the post, the singer announced that she's going solo and will release new music soon.
"For now, though, I am excited / terrified / bewildered to tell you that I have been working on my first ever solo music and will be able to start sharing it soon," she wrote.
Throughout her career, the musician said she couldn't imagine herself doing music outside of her band because she has been in different groups since she was 15 years old.

However, "it has started to feel like there are things I want to write and say and do that need to be done on my own."
As of this writing, it's unclear whether Lauren Mayberry would leave Chvrches or not, or if the band will continue making music.
But in the caption, the singer hinted that the band "has many more pages yet to be written."
