Is Katy Perry dropping new music soon?
Perry has been busy with her other projects that she has not released new music since her 2020 solo song, "Smile." She also announced her touring hiatus in 2018, leading fans to ask her for new music instead.

The wait might finally be over, as Perry's fans thought she teased her with a major clue.
The 38-year-old "Dark Horse" singer took to Instagram and shared new photos of herself on the set of "Good Morning America." She donned a blue sequined dress complemented by her feels and hair styled in a sleek bun.
She told her fans to tune into the show and look forward to her appearance.

Not long after she posted the photos, her fans noticed the large butterfly ring on her left hand's finger. In May, she liked a tweet about it being a sign of a new era; thus, her followers assumed she just hinted at her comeback song or album.
"I don't know if you noticed, but at the end of Roar's presentation, a bunch of butterflies appeared and this is just one of the symbols Katy has been using the most lately," one fan said. "I bet the next era is coming, and it will have everything to do with this theme."
The "California Gurls" hitmaker also used a butterfly as part of the music video of her 2012 hit song, "Wide Awake."
Perry is yet to confirm whether she is truly making her comeback with new material, but it would be her first music since the 2020 "Smile."

Amid the excitement over her potential new music, Perry also made fans worry after rumors about her alleged plans to quit "American Idol." The buzz started after the female singer suffered condemnation over her repeated derogatory remarks toward contestants and strange behavior during filming.
The Sun US previously reported that the "Last Friday Night" singer wanted to leave her post to focus on her family, especially since her fiancé Orlando Bloom has also been busy with his packed schedule.
"With both of them working so much on projects, time as a family is also very precious," an insider said.
