After breaking multiple streaming records, chart milestones, even breaking the Ticketmaster's servers on her presale for "The Eras" tour, she went on to conquer cinema with the release of "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," the concert film for her legendary "The Eras" Tour."
As the official numbers were finally recorded, it was revealed that Taylor Swift had surpassed multiple artists' concert films' opening weekend sales.
'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' Opening Weekend Sales
As reported by Forbes, Taylor Swift's "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" has officially raked in $92.8 million in domestic theatres during its opening weekend making it the highest-grossing concert film in history, and the seventh best opening day of 2023.
It surpassed Justin Bieber's $73 million opening numbers for "Never Say Never" movie in 2011, and Michael Jackson's "This Is It" which earned $72 million in 2009. "Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert" movie is ranked fourth as it made $65 million in 2008.
Meanwhile, One Direction's "This Is Us" is now ranked at No. 5 with $28.8 million in 2013, while Katy Perry's "Part of Me," got $25.3 in 2012. "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience" in 2009 is at No. 6 with $19 million.
In comparison with the other films released on October 2023, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" was also the top film this month. Comscore reported that the film opened to $96 million on its first two days, which was a day earlier than its scheduled release. (via Entertainment Weekly)
"The Exorcist: Believer" comes in second, while "Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie" comes in third, "Saw X" was fourth, and "The Creator" rounded the Top 5.
Meanwhile, at the Global Box Office, the "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" concert film, which was released in the Philippines, United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, and Australia, brought $123.5 million from the weekend alone, Variety reported.

'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' Critics Review
The "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" concert film received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics.
"TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR delivers exactly what it promises: A smoothly directed, impeccably performed documentary capturing the concert event of the year," the Rotten Tomatoes consensus review of the film says.
