Halsey is gearing up to release a new album, three years after her fourth studio album "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power," and she is "super excited but also super nervous" about it.

The "Colors" singer addressed her upcoming fifth studio album during a live stream, "There's so much I wanna tell you guys about it," she began "But it doesn't feel right to tell you until...

"You have to experience it; it's not really something I can explain without hearing it and getting full context and the full picture," she added.

This will be Halsey's first album since parting ways from her former record label, Capitol Records, and signing a new contract with Columbia Records.

Halsey Leaves Capitol Records For Columbia Records

Less than a year after releasing her controversial hit song "So Good," Halsey reportedly left Capitol Records.

"After 8 great years the decision to leave Capitol is bittersweet, but we are excited about exploring a new partnership and sharing new music with fans," the singer's managers, Jason Aron and Anthony Li told People Magazine.

"Everyone at Capitol poured their hearts and souls into helping Halsey achieve her dreams and present her music to the world. We are incredibly proud of all we accomplished together, and wish Halsey the very best in all her future endeavors."

The reason behind the split was due to the label's insistence that the singer "fake a viral moment" before they would release "So Good."

"Basically I have a song that I love and I wanna release ASAP but my record label won't let me," Halsey explained. "I've been in this industry for eight years and I've sold over 165 million records and my record company is saying I can't release [the song] unless they can fake a viral moment on TikTok."

Halsey's Semi-Hiatus From Music

While Halsey did not explicitly call her break from music a hiatus, many considered it as such. She barely released new material-save her collab song with KPOP superstar Suga of BTS, "Lilith (Diablo IV Anthem)."

The "Without You" singer has, however, teased fans regarding the new album several times.

"As of right now, I'm approaching it kinda how I approached 'Manic'. No strict genre parameters or anything. Just making what feels good and what hits home," she wrote in a social media post.

Halsey is yet to reveal just how far along she is with the new album, and what it will sound like.
