BLACKPINK's Jennie, Jisoo, Rose, and Lisa will not be renewing their solo contracts, but they will continue as a group-how does that work?

The KPOP girl group has been going through a lot of negotiations with their label YG Entertainment since their contract expired last August, and it took them several months to come to this conclusion.

BLACKPINK, the group, will carry on releasing music and working on group activities; however, the members are no longer under YG Entertainment's management.

The news was confirmed by the South Korean label slash talent agency: "We will do our utmost to support Blackpink's activities, and we will cheer on the members' individual activities with warm hearts."

Jennie Establishes Own Company

The news of the four members pursuing their solo endeavors without YG Entertainment comes shortly after Jennie announced her newly established label and company, Odd Atelier, or OA, for short.

"Hi, this is Jennie. This year was filled with many accomplishments, and I'm so thankful for all the love I've received," the KPOP star wrote.

"I'm also about what's to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course BLACKPINK. Thank you."

As of this writing, it is unconfirmed whether the other members of BLACKPINK have signed under OA.

As for the new company, it already shared its vision and mission: "OA, which stands for ODD ATELIER, is a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.

"It is a label founded by artist JENNIE in November 2023."
