• 'American Idol' Finale: Chris Brown, Ricky Martin, The Jacksons Added to Lineup

    FOX is gearing up for the Season 14 finale of American Idol and there's a laundry list of talent slated to perform. The cable network recently announced that Chris Brown, Ricky Martin and some members of the Jackson family will join Steven Tyler, Fall Out Boy and Vance Joy on the final episode. Contestants Jax, Clark Beckham, Rayvon Owen and Nick Fradiani will sing tonight, May 6, to see who makes it to the finale.

    The most recent winner of American Idol (at least until Season 14 wraps up soon), Caleb Johnson, has announced plans for a new album and, more interestingly, a new record label. The performer made it clear during an interview with Billboard that he would be cutting ties with Interscope after releasing his debut Testify, the record required as part of the winning the television vocal competition. He didn't exactly mince words when describing his time at the major label.

    Quentin Alexander was upset to see Rayvon Owen and Joey Cook in the bottom two of American Idol's competition this week. He voiced his concerns, calling the situation "wack," before Harry Connick Jr. responded to the whole mess. Alexander apologized, but Cook thought the whole gesture was a heroic deed.

  • 'American Idol' Live Tour Dates: Competition Announces Road Shows

    'American Idol' will take its top five finalists on the road this summer, as is tradition, following the conclusion of its 14th season. The live tour kicks off in Clearwater, Florida, July 7 and wraps a month later in Riverside, California. Nashville, Baltimore and Chicago will be included on the trek, 'Billboard' notes.

Clarkson also took the stage herself to perform "Heartbeat Song" from her new album 'Piece by Piece' and the Etta James classic "At Last."
  • 'American Idol' Caleb Johnson Announces Tour Dates

    Last year's American Idol champ, Caleb Johnson, is hitting the road in May for a brief tour. The singer is making stops in Atlanta, Birmingham and Nashville through the end of the month. As Billboard notes, Johnson does not have gigs scheduled for May 12 or 13 when the finale of Season 14 of American Idol will premiere, so we'll most likely see the singer on the show.
  • Scott Borchetta: 'American Idol' Contestant Maddie Walker Did Not Rupture Her Appendix

    Maddie Walker was in visible pain last week on American Idol, and after she sang "She's Country" by Jason Aldean, she was escorted off stage by a doctor. Taste of Country reports that former contestant Savion Wright tweeted that Walker ruptured her appendix (the post has since been deleted). Scott Borchetta said the rumors were false, but not much else is known about Walker's ongoing condition.
