• Bone Thugs-N-Harmony New Album Update from Krayzie Bone: Rethinking Million-Dollar Idea

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's influence cannot be understated. The popular triplet cadence revitalized by Migos's "Versace" and subsequently used in an abundance of tracks since was first popularized by Bizze Bone, WIsh Bone, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Flesh-N-Bone of the massively popular Cleveland group. The group has been called "the most melodic hip-hop group of all time" and has been named as one of the 25 best rap groups. The group has sold millions of albums and has racked up Grammy awards for their heartfelt, melody-driven approach to hip-hop. Last year, Krayzie Bone told HipHopDX that the group was planning on releasing an album entitled East 1999 Legends, an homage to their track "East 1999" from their second album, of which only one copy will be made and sold for over one million dollars. Now, the Cleveland group is rethinking this strategy, though they will release new music in the future.

  • ZHU Genesis Series Features Skrillex, AlunaGeorge, Bone Thugs N Harmony

The mysterious Los Angeles-based producer, ZHU has come alive. After months of staying totally silent, ZHU unveiled a brand new website generationwhy.com, which has just a large word scramble and an email sign up. Once you sign up, it tells you what number sign up you are. Within the word scramble there is a list of artists who ZHU is collaborating with on music that will presumably appear on his upcoming album or at least an EP. Among those that have been spotted so far are Skrillex, Alunageorge, A-Trak, Gallant and interestingly enough Bone Thugs N Harmony.
  • Cleveland Rap Songs: T-Pain, Milford Jerome (and Iman Shumpert?) Get Behind Cavaliers

Tonight the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James will go up against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors for the first game of the NBA championship. To get revved up for the series, Music Times has assembled hip-hop songs about each of the respective teams, as few musicians get as amped for their local sports teams as rappers (the number of songs/mixtapes named "Beast Mode" after Marshawn Lynch is astounding). We'll start with the Eastern Conference and Cleveland, perhaps ground zero for the hip-hop-meets-harmony movement thanks to the city's much loved Bone Thugs.
  • Flying Lotus Shares New Song 'Medication Meditation' Feat. Krayzie Bone from 'GTA 5' [LISTEN]

Yesterday, Nov. 18, saw the re-release of "Grand Theft Auto V" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and among its many new features are 162 new songs across its 17 fictional radio stations. Today, experimental hip-hop producer Flying Lotus shared one of his contributions to the game's new soundtrack, a moody and intense track titled "Medication Meditation" featuring Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, which you can check out below but the artwork above. The track is a stark difference from FlyLo's most recent album "You're Dead!" Instead of being highly complex and jazz-inflected, this is much more traditionally hip-hop, in no small part due to Krayzie Bone's wildly energetic verses. Being a Flying Lotus track, however, it still does not sound anything like your typical 2014 hip-hop single.
