  • The New Pornographers Add Tour Dates: 'Brill Bruisers' Group Will Make Stops at Sasquatch! and Pitchfork Festivals

    The New Pornographers added dates to their 2015 touring schedule recently. The band will play a handful of dates this summer in support of Brill Bruisers, their sixth studio effort. They'll stop by the Sasquatch! Music Festival in Quincy, Washington, on May 22 to kick off the tour, wrapping it up in July at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.

    Wayne Static mixed prescription medication with alcohol before he died in November, Blabbermouth reports. According to official documents filed by the investigating coroner, Static had oxycodone, Xanax and alcohol in his system. While his drinking had become a problem, his wife, Tera Wray, said that they had both given up illicit drugs in 2009.

    George Strait may have travelled off the touring horizon with his "The Cowboy Rides Away" farewell concert at AT&T Stadium in Dallas last year but that doesn't mean he's done with performing, or even new music. In fact, the Academy of Country Music confirmed that the icon would be playing just that, new music, when he appears at the ACM Awards on April 19. Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban will also be performing that night.
