Experimental singer-songwriter Misty Boyce got her start backing artists such as Ingrid Michaelson, The Naked Brothers Band and most recently, Sara Bareilles, on stage but now it's Boyce's turn to be front and center. A formally trained and highly versatile artist in her own right, Boyce followed up her debut album with her second full-length, 'The Life.' The album is out today on Bandcamp. Ahead of its release, we caught up with Boyce to talk about inspirations behind the album, her favorite memories on tour with Sara Bareilles, adjusting to life in L.A. after moving from New York, and more. Cannibal Ox Announces 'Blade of the Ronin': First New Album in 14 Years
New York hip-hop duo Cannibal Ox have announced the release of their long-awaited sophomore effort "Blade of the Ronin" — that is the cover artwork up above. According to "Hip-Hop DX," the album is set for release March 3 and was mostly produced by Bill Cosmiq. Among the album's featured artists include MF Doom, U-God of Wu-Tang Clan, Elzhi, The Artifacts, Double A.B., Kenyattah Black, Space, Swave Sevah, Elohem Star, Irealz and The Quantum. -
Skrillex and Bonnaroo Share 7-Part SuperJam Documentary Featuring The Doors, The Grateful Dead, Zedd, Damian Marley, Thundercat and More [WATCH]
Bonnaroo took a big risk when it booked Skrillex to lead a "SuperJam," one of the unique aspects of the festival where an artist curates a massive collective of disparate artists from either the same genre or different ones to come together and play a variety of songs, generally covers. But, by all accounts, his was one of the most successful at the festival as he managed to blend electronic music with hip-hop, rock and reggae, calling upon artists from all across styles and decades. AT&T teamed up with Bonnaroo to put together a seven-part documentary about the making of the Skrillex SuperJam and the meeting of the minds that included Mickey Hart of The Grateful Dead; Robbie Krieger, guitarist for The Doors; A$AP Ferg; Thundercat; Big Gigantic; Warpaint; Zedd; Janelle Monáe; Damian Marley; and many others. -

Led Zeppelin Share Rough Mix of "Houses Of The Holy" From Upcoming 'Physical Graffiti' Reissue [LISTEN]
Next month, Led Zeppelin will be releasing the remastered edition of their classic 1975 album, 'Physical Graffiti,' with a bonus disc of alternate mixes, and today the rough mix of one of the album's standout tracks "Houses of the Holy" has been shared, which you can check out below. Even if you're not an audiophile, the differences between this version and the original are quite obvious — the bass is more prominent, the drums are looser, Robert Plant's vocals (particularly the backing vocals) are pushed up in the mix, and there are less guitar overdubs. It's a fascinating listen for diehard Zeppelin fans, but you probably won't prefer this to the album version. -

First, D'Angelo surprised the world by releasing his first album in 14 years Black Messiah in December, and then he made his fans rejoice by announcing a one-off show in New York City at The Apollo. And now, fans of the "Really Love" singer will be able to see him on another NYC stage, albeit one with more accessibility. Today (Jan. 20), D'Angelo was announced as the latest musical guest on Saturday Night Live. -

Ryan Adams, Jenny Lewis Announce New Spring Tour Dates [FULL SCHEDULE]
Last fall, Ryan Adams and Jenny Lewis hit the road together in support of their acclaimed 2014 albums, 'Ryan Adams' and 'The Voyager,' respectively, and today it was announced that the two would be joining forces once again. According to reports, both Adams and Lewis have announced new tour dates for the spring, and will be playing together for four dates in late April and early May. The tours will commence following their appearances at Coachella 2015, where both will be performing on April 12 and 19 (separately, but don't be surprised if they play a song or two together).
