  • The Byrds' "Mr. Tambourine Man" at 50: Ranking The Original (Bob Dylan) and Covers (Stevie Wonder, William Shatner, More)

On this date 50 years ago The Byrds recorded "Mr. Tambourine Man." That band wasn't the first to do it—Bob Dylan wrote the original version of the song and recorded it just five days prior to The Byrds entering the studio with it—but it would end up that the latter ended up more famous than the first. The song reached no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been cited as the birthplace of "folk rock" (fans of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and everything to follow are thankful). Many acts have gone on to cover the track (aside from The Byrds) so Music Times gathered a few of the more famous versions and ranked them accordingly.
  • Indonesian Officials Say AirAsia Plane Climbed Too Fast, Likely Stalled Out

About a week after finding and recovering the black boxes from AirAsia Flight 8501, investigators are beginning to put together a solid idea of what led to the demise of the plane. It had been reported almost immediately after the flight went missing that storms in the area and bad weather conditions had prompted the pilot to ask to climb from 32,000 feet up to 38,000 feet but was initially denied. Indonesian officials are now saying that the pilot did climb 6,000 feet in just one minute, and that likely caused the airbus to stall out.

  • LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian's VH1 Reality Show Is Officially a Canceled, Epic Fail

If you were one of the few people who tuned in to watch LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian's reality show on VH1 last summer, then you probably thought it was a serious hot mess. The couple had originally wanted to use the show as a vehicle to prove that they are a great couple that belongs together. Instead, they wasted too much time taking shots at Cibrian's ex Brandi Glanville and making fun of the press that has made them relevant in the first place. After months of speculation, it has been confirmed that eight episodes of "LeAnn & Eddie" was more than enough for the network and a second season is not happening.
  • Backstreet Boys Visit Lou Pearlman's House in New Clip for 'Show 'Em What You're Made Of' Documentary [WATCH]

Lou Pearlman was synonymous with making boy bands like NSync and the Backstreet Boys successful in the 1990s. By 1998, though, members of the "I Want It That Way" group started to ask questions about the amount of money they were receiving for their work.
