California garage rock extraordinaire Ty Segall has announced a new EP titled Mr. Face, which is set for release on Jan. 13 through Famous Class Records (that's the cover artwork up above). Though Mr. Face contains only four tracks, which could easily fit onto one record, the EP will be released as a double seven-inch, and is being billed as "the world's first playable pair of 3D glasses," which you're supposed to hold up to your eyes while you look at the record sleeve (as Segall helpfully demonstrates with this animated GIF over at Pitchfork). -

50 Cent Reaches Out To Floyd Mayweather Following Earl Hayes’ Death, Calls Boxer His "Little Brother" Despite Past Beefs
50 Cent's friendship with Floyd Mayweather goes back more than a decade. Things started going downhill in 2012 after their joint promotions company The Money Team tore them apart - Mayweather backed out of it and left Fiddy with a $2 million loss. They had appeared to have patched things up until this summer when 50 bullied Mayweather on Instagram by challenging him to read a page from Harry Potter without messing it up, and there have been a few back-and-forth comments since then. While Fiddy might not have the best relationship right now with Mayweather, he still reached out to him following the tragic murder-suicide that Mayweather was a reported witness to. -
Scott Stapp Skipped Mental Health Hearing: Creed Singer Could Be Involuntarily Committed
Creed's Scott Stapp reportedly skipped a mental health hearing that a court required him to attend. The scheduled appearance was supposed to be a chance for officials to propose Stapp spend some time in a psychiatric treatment facility. The singer made headlines in November after posting multiple videos in which he claimed he was broke and living in his truck.A few days ago, it was reported that Stapp recieved a $1.5 million advance for his last solo effort, 2013's "Proof of Life." He, along with Creed bandmates Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips, reportedly received $3 million in advance of 2009's "Full Circle." Stapp's stories of mysterious sources draining his bank account and not receiving royalties from his record label seem a bit sketchy now.The singer's mental health came into question earlier in November when police in Madison County, Florida, found him on the side of the road looking inebriated and rambling incoherently. He was placed in a 72-hour psych hold, and his wife, Jaclyn, asked that he be put in an additional psych hold after the videos started surfacing. GossipExtra notes that Stapp can be involuntarily committed to a psychiatric facility for having missed his recent court date. The singer appears to be sober in the video messages, but there is no way of telling what his true state of mind is. -
'RHONJ' Teresa Giudice Debuts New Online Cooking Show, But Will Anyone Watch?
Several weeks ago we heard about how Teresa Giudice was rumored to be ironing out the details in order to launch a cooking show once she finishes serving her 15-month prison term for financial crimes. The former star of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" is trying to figure out how to provide for her four daughters later on as well as in the immediate future. One thing is for certain, her shady husband Joe Giudice will likely be of much financial help. It seems, though, that at least for now Bravo has opted to sever ties with the reality star, so she has had to get a bit creative. Glam.com offered her an online cooking show, and Giudice jumped at the chance. Her first episode of "Haute Hostess" is online now and features Giudice making shrimp and pasta from her cookbook "Fabulicious." Throughout her years on "RHONJ," it was always insinuated that Giudice rarely cooks, so peddling her books is just about as fraudulent as everything else she has done to make some fast cash. A few years ago, when Giudice's fan base was huge, the idea of a Web cooking show would have taken off like crazy, but now not so much. There is little doubt that she is hoping that "Haute Hostess" will be an online hit and that it will make Bravo's executives reconsider whether or not to take another chance on her. -

Insomniac's Electric Daisy Carnival is one of the biggest dance music festival franchises in the world. The flagship festival EDC Las Vegas started in Los Angeles and has since moved to Las Vegas, but Insomniac began to grow the brand in the past five years to the East Coast, creating outposts in New York and Orlando and then spreading internationally. One of these international destinations has taken root in Mexico City, and Insomniac has announced the lineup for the second-annual edition of the festival. Habitual headliners like Tiësto, David Guetta, Laidback Luke, Dillon Francis and Sasha will all join the party, with a large cast of DJs to round out the lineup, including Diplo and Skrillex's side project Jack Ü, which Diplo announced the appearance of last month in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid.The lineup includes a variety of DJs from a wide swath of genres. Some of the acts heading to Mexico in the spring include Tommy Trash, Grum, Dubfire, Arty, GTA, Oliver Heldens, Orjan Nilsen, Claude VonStroke, Andrew Rayel and more, via "Mixmag." The festival will take place over two days, Feb. 28 to March 1. As it is in Las Vegas, EDC Mexico will be situated on a racetrack, this time closer to the city than in Las Vegas at the Autodrome Hermanos Rodriguez. -

John Coltrane Documentary Coming from 'The U.S. Vs. John Lennon' Director
Once you tackle John Lennon and Brian Wilson's lives in documentary films, it is tough to find subjects as interesting or important. But director/writer/producer John Scheinfeld ("The U.S. Vs. John Lennon," "Beautiful Dreamer") has been working on a new project featuring John Coltrane, the legendary saxophonist who died in 1967."He was an artist whose work resonated with fans from all walks of life — the architect Frank Gehry, Clint Eastwood, Bono, Philip Glass, Alicia Keys, Bill Clinton — and that fascinated me. What is it about this music that touches people so deeply?" Scheinfeld said, via "The Hollywood Reporter."The director's goal was not to glorify Coltrane, but to humanize him. -
'Time' Magazine's Short List for 'Person of the Year' Candidates Is Raising Some Eyebrows
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, "Time" magazine will announce its 2014 Person of the Year, and after learning who landed on the short list of candidates, we are more than a little confused. Some of the names on the list are not too shocking. There is Tim Cook, who introduced a bunch of new Apple products this year and then decided to come out of the closet, making him the first openly gay CEO of a Fortune 500 company. There is Taylor Swift, who, as a top-selling artist, decided to pull her music from Spotify this past fall because she believes the streaming service is not compensating artists nearly enough. But some of the other contenders are a bit baffling.Like Vladimir Putin, the Russian president who guided his country through hosting the Sochi Olympics in February under subpar conditions. He has also been one of the ringleaders in the ongoing strife between Russia and eastern Ukraine. Then there is NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who has spent the last six months living under a microscope because it seems the majority of even NFL fans believe he purposely set out to cover up several domestic violence cases within the league, including the now-infamous knockout punch by Ray Rice that was caught on surveillance tape and then shown to the world. The Ferguson protesters have also made the list, but wouldn't it have made more sense for the peaceful protesters in New York City's chokehold case to have made it instead? By pointing to Ferguson, sadly the first thing that comes to mind for many people is either the rioting and destruction of local businesses after Darren Wilson was not indicted, or else the video of Michael Brown's grieving and angry stepfather directing the crowd to burn things down.
